Data sources

Data is extracted from one or multiple Monitor ERP databases into the Monitor BI database on a schedule. Read more about Scheduling.

The data in Monitor BI is divided by module in Monitor ERP with a separate data source per module. There is also a separate data source named Sustainability, with focus on company emission data. In each data source there are several queries presenting data from the module.

Monitor BI comes with a wide range of standard data sources and queries. The provided data sources are used in a set of standard dashboards and can also be used to create your own dashboards. Read more about creating new dashboards.

Data in Monitor BI can be divided into two basic categories, Dimensions and Measures. Dimensions are mostly used to group data and Measures to calculate values. Since data can come from multiple companies, measures that are financial values are converted and shown in a Monitor BI currency. This is managed by a currency setting in Monitor BI. Quantities are in most cases shown in a part’s standard unit or unit for statistics.
