Transactions
In the upper table under the List tab you see all EDI EDI is the acronym of Electronic Data Interchange. EDI is about exchanging electronic business documents with your business partners, e.g. customers and suppliers. The EDI concept can be wide and a bit unclear, and can many times be used about all types of documents which are sent electronically, even if it might be PDF files sent via e-mail or publishing business documents on a website. What we refer to as EDI – and what is traditionally meant by EDI – is structured business documents following given standards, electronically sent or received and which are compiled and interpreted automatically and that is integrated with the customer's/supplier's ERP system. business transactions. You also see if it concerns import or export of EDI files. The latest transaction is by default placed at the top.
Here you analyze each step in each transaction of the EDI file. Via the status you can see if the transaction e.g. is Finished , Corrected
, or if any errors exist
. If the transaction has errors, the cause is shown in a tooltip over the symbol.
By checking the box in the column A on a transaction record (import) you manually approve the import when saving. The checkbox appears if you, in the behavior, have configured that imports should be manually approved. You can also check the box in the column heading to approve all transaction records.
For each transaction record you can use the button Log to see step, event, details, time, and level. The log also shows if parts are included on a list of exceptions and have therefore not been included in the import of the delivery schedule.
In some cases regarding import, the same file can contain more than one business transaction. For example, an import file can contain more than one customer order. This is reflected in the two-part number (for example 478-1) that is given to the transaction when it is imported. The first part of the number (478) is the transaction number for the file and the second part of the number (1) is the sorting number for orders within the same file. If the import file contains more than one business transaction (for example several customer orders), then each transaction has a separate sorting number but has the same transaction number for the file (for example 478-1, 478-2, etc.).
The button Start transaction on the function menu, restarts the selected transaction record in the list. This is useful if for example the transaction is awaiting to be run again (the import principle in the behavior allows parts of orders) or if something went wrong when loading the import file (the transaction is then restarted from the step the error occurred). It is also possible to select several transaction records and restart them at the same time. If a transaction (import) is finished and you try to restart it, a dialog box appears asking if you want to run the transaction again. If a transaction (export) should be run again, a dialog box appears displaying the following options Export only and Process again for the transaction. By using the first option, the file will only be exported again. By using the second alternative, the transaction will be run again and a new file will be exported.
By using the button Attend to error (description) you can attend to any errors that might have occurred in a transaction record. The button is only active if an error exists in the selected transaction. If you place the cursor over button, a tooltip appears informing you where the error is attended.
By using the button Go to tab you can choose to view more detailed information under the affected tab for the selected transaction record. This button applies to import transactions. You can also double-click a transaction to go to the affected tab.
By using the button Delete transaction(s) (F6) on the function menu, you can delete the selected transaction record. It is also possible to select several transactions and delete them at the same time. You can also select one transaction, right-click on it and choose to delete all records that belong to the same transaction. Read more about deleting transactions below.
The button Review file data for transaction {0} (Ctrl + Shift + L) displays the contents of the EDI file that was imported or exported in the selected transaction record. This is shown in a separate window.
By using the Save file locally button you can choose Save transaction file in order to save an XML file with the actual EDI file that belongs to the transaction record. You can also choose Save log file in order to save a CSV file with the log records that belong to the transaction record.
The button Send transaction via e-mail creates an e-mail message in which the EDI file and log file are attached. The purpose of this is if you for example have a problem and want to send the EDI file and log file to your EDI partner or Monitor Support Center for troubleshooting.
The button Find (Ctrl + B) opens a search field above the table where you can perform exact match searches for information in the records in the table. The button also exists in other boxes in the procedure.
By using the button Search in file contents you can search for information in transaction files and log files. In the table you see the records that match the information you have searched for. The button is shown as activated after a search has been done. Click the button again if you want to change the search or reset. The button also exists in other boxes in the procedure.
By using the button Go to procedure you can go to different procedures for the selected transaction record. The button also exists in other boxes in the procedures for other types of records.

What happens when you delete a transaction?
- If you delete a transaction record, you will also delete underlying log records. If the transaction contains a file, the actual file will not be deleted.
- If you delete a record with status "Finished" (that is, with a created customer order), the created order will not be affected. Information is also displayed saying that the order in Monitor ERP will not be affected.
- As long as other business transactions remain from the same transaction, the transaction record will not be affected.
- If you choose to delete the latest or the only business transaction, then the transaction record will also be deleted.
