Account

Here you enter/select the account number in the chart of accounts. The account number field is alphanumerical and can contain a maximum of 10 characters.

Name

Here you see/enter the name of the account with a maximum of 150 characters. By using the button Translations , you can translate the text to the different active languages registered in the system. button. Read more about language management for translatable texts.

Account type

Here you select the type of account (account class). If you enter a new account which does not exist in the chart of accounts, then the account type will be set automatically based on the first digit in the account number.

The account type is used for different purposes. For example, if it is an asset account or a debt account, the opening balance of the account will be transferred to the next accounting year. Account type can also be used as terms to select and filter by in different lists.

Balance

Here you see the closing balance of the selected accounting year.

Opening balance

If the selected account is an asset account or a debt account, you will see the opening balance of the account in the selected accounting year.
