Permission levels
Please note! The user rights for Data permissions are by default limited to users assigned the ERP manager role or System administrator in Monitor ERP.
Under the Permission levels page you can control whether users can view or edit data and dashboards in Monitor BI. Permissions are based on the user concept from Monitor ERP and can be configured on role, user rights group and user level. There are four available permission levels:
- None – Deny user access to Monitor BI.
- Viewer – Allow user to only view assigned dashboards and data.
- Editor – Allow user to view and edit their assigned dashboards, create data sources, and manage permissions only for dashboards they own.
- Publisher – Allow the user to view and edit assigned dashboards, create data sources, publish dashboards, and manage permissions for all dashboards.
- Administrator – Allow user full access which includes administration of user permissions, data extraction and creation of custom data sources.
Roles
This tab contains a list of available roles from Monitor ERP.
Groups
This tab contains a list of user rights groups from Monitor ERP.
Users
This tab contains a list of users from Monitor ERP.
Permission level
This column contains a list of permissions levels in Monitor BI. The selected permission level determines the user's access to dashboards and data source management.
Resulting permissions
This column displays resulting permissions for each user. The resulting permissions are generated by the settings in tabs Roles, Groups and Users. A tooltip is present on each permission level with information on which level it's configured on.
Data source permissions
The ability to create data sources depends on the assigned permission level:

Users with Editor, Publisher, or Administrator permissions can create data sources when adding data to dashboards.
Dashboard permissions are subject to ownership rules:
- Editors can manage permissions only for dashboards they own.
- Publishers can manage permissions for all dashboards.
- Administrators have full access to dashboard permissions.
- Data sources created by users with Publisher permissions follow the same validation, ownership, and permission rules as data sources created by users with Administrator permissions.
Export permission overview to Excel
In each tab (Roles, Groups, and Users), an Export to Excel button is available.
This export generates an Excel file that provides an overview of assigned permission levels and the resulting permissions for each role, group, or user.
