Two types of stock count

You can naturally do your stock count in many different ways. Each company has its own routines and procedures that are used for stock counts. You can say that there are two main types of taking stock: Continuous/Recurring and Full. The recurring stock count is usually carried out according to a rolling schedule, where you stock count certain locations, part types, or departments at a time. During this stock count, the manufacturing and its corresponding stock transactions are still in progress.

During a full/complete stock count, you usually do a stock count of the entire stock, at a time when the production is stopped for example on a weekend.

Please note! You need to do some reconciliations prior to performing a complete stock count.

Stock count approval

If you use the Stock count in list procedure you can apply approval of stock counts. An approval flow is activated in cases where the stock count value falls within a certain range, as well as any conditions for the part that are linked to the signer. This applies to both positive and negative values. The value is based on the part’s standard price multiplied by the stock count difference.
