Manage EDI transactions
This procedure is used as a "control tower" for EDI EDI is the acronym of Electronic Data Interchange. EDI is about exchanging electronic business documents with your business partners, e.g. customers and suppliers. The EDI concept can be wide and a bit unclear, and can many times be used about all types of documents which are sent electronically, even if it might be PDF files sent via e-mail or publishing business documents on a website. What we refer to as EDI – and what is traditionally meant by EDI – is structured business documents following given standards, electronically sent or received and which are compiled and interpreted automatically and that is integrated with the customer's/supplier's ERP system.. Here you see an overview of EDI business transactions and runs of EDI channels. It is a central procedure for EDI users when it comes to error management and approval of transactions.
This is a list procedure where you can find business transactions based on different terms. When you have loaded the list with EDI transactions, you can monitor them. You can also approve import transactions that are configured to be manually approved.
After importing business transactions, you find detailed information about each business transaction under each respective tab. For example under the Customer order tab, you find information from the order header and order rows on each imported customer order.
You also monitor runs of EDI channels to see if a channel is up and running. You also see the result of the latest run (if it was successful or if something went wrong, for example if it failed to connect to the source or target). From the run, traceability is created for the EDI business transaction. That is, information is saved to make it possible to for example find out from which run a specific transaction as well as which other transactions occurred during the same run. From this information you can also see what triggered the run, if it was a scheduled run or a manually started run (and who started it).
You can unpin boxes with order rows, parts, and calls and make it a floating window by using the button Floating (Ctrl + U). and make it a floating window. You can change the size of this window and move it to another screen.
