Recording terminal
You use the recording terminal to record attendance, absence, work, and project activities. These recording items are used as bases for salaries, and to create bases for post-calculations.
The recording terminal's user interface is adapted to touch screens, where the frequently used recording buttons are larger to make them easier to tap with a finger. In the Terminal settings procedure it is possible to activate the setting Touch screen for each recording terminal. If you activate it, you will see a keypad in the Employee number field, making it possible to enter your employee number without using a keyboard.
The Work method configured for you in the Personnel records – Time recording procedure (either Only change work or Start/Stop at will) affects how you record work in the procedure. Read more about that below.
In the above mentioned procedure it is also configured for each employee number if it should be possible to record Attendance/Work or Only work. The latter option is used for machine recording. That is, when the employee number refers to a machine. A machine only records start/stop and work. It does not use e.g. time banks and it does not generate absence, overtime, or flex. It only generates work records.

In the Recording terminal you see a standard layout with different boxes or you see a desktop configuration. The desktop configuration shown is the one which have been configured for the user logged on to Monitor ERP on the recording terminal computer.
This is the basic mode. In the basic mode you first enter you employee number or code and press Enter or Tab, to access the recording mode where you record attendance (clock in/clock out) or record work (start/stop) if you are already clocked in.

In the recording mode the recording terminal is divided in four sections. In the left section, called Recording, you record attendance and work using the available buttons. If you select to start work the recording terminal will change mode to start work mode. Read more about Recording.
To the right you find the More information section. Here you see your most recent recording items, you can show and change schedule, view or report planned absence, and see schedule exceptions in calendars. You can also enter comments regarding the recording items. Read more about More information. To the right you also find the Time balances section. Here you can show/hide your time balances. Read more about Time balances.
In the bottom section called Work in progress you can see your work items which are in progress, both direct and indirect work. In this box you can also see your work items on standby. Here you can end setup time, partial report work, print shop packet, release work on standby, or select which work items to stop (optional). Using the button Go to procedure you can also go to related procedures for the selected work item. Read more about Work in progress.

Under the tab Direct work you can select one or several direct work items. Operations which should be batch recorded can be selected to start at the same time in one single batch. If you batch record work and have such in progress, then it is also possible to add operations to the batch.
If the work method which enables you to start/stop at will has been selected, then it is also possible to start several direct work items in parallel. This also applies to operations which have not been set to batch recording. If you have started several work items in parallel which all have batch recording, and then want to add a work item to the batch, you get to select to which batch it should be added. After you have started/added the work item the recording terminal will revert to the basic mode.
If the work method which only enables you to change work item has been selected, then you can only start one (1) direct work item. Operations which should be batch recorded are then also possible to selected to start at the same time in one single batch. After you have started the work item, the recording terminal will open the mode where you stop the previous work item. This is done unless it is the first work item you are starting or have selected to add to a batch, since there is then no work item to stop and the terminal will instead revert to the basic mode.
Different validations take place when you start a work item. If there is something which is not OK you will see a warning symbol in the column V (Validation) in the priority plan and in the validation window at the bottom right corner in the procedure window. There you can also see the cause displayed in text.

Under the tab Indirect work you can select one (1) direct work item.

Under the tab Project activity you can select to start one (1) activity.

In this mode you can select to partial report work items in progress. Partial reporting is used if you for example report a finished quantity per pallet and want to continue working directly after the reporting. When performing partial reporting the work time is not stopped. If you partial report a project activity in question, then you can enter a comment and link files.
Read more about Partial report work.

In this mode you can choose to stop one or more direct work items which you have started. If you perform batch recording, the affected work items will be kept together when you stop work. If you also have an indirect work item in progress it is possible to also stop this at the same time. If it is a project activity in progress which you want to end/finish, then you can enter a comment and link files. If the activity is also finished, you check the checkbox Finished.
In cases where the work method has been configured to start/stop at will, the recording terminal will revert to the basic mode after you have stopped the previous work items.
If you use the work method where you only are allowed to change work items, the mode where you can start a new work item will open automatically after you have stopped/finished the previous work item.
Read more about Stop work.

This mode is opened after you have stopped a work item if the work center has been configured to print transport label when stopping work and you have entered a reported quantity. Here you can preview and select if the transport labels should be printed. If needed, you can here change the Reported quantity. If you have entered a rejected quantity you can here also preview and print the transport label for rejected goods.

Regardless of the mode of the recording terminal you can always go back to the basic mode by clicking the button Clear to the right of the Employee number field. The recording terminal will also automatically revert to the basic mode when a certain time has passed (default 60 seconds) in case you have forgotten to clear it. The default time before it is cleared can be changed using the setting Number of seconds before clearing of recording terminal.
