Balance import
In this procedure you can import stock balances, locations, and batches to existing parts. The import is made from text files. This procedure is mainly used when starting up Monitor ERP in order to transfer information from previous systems.
Locations and balances are always added as rows on parts. Any existing location rows with balances will not be removed. Existing locations without balance will be removed if the setting Random stock location has been set on the part.
Import file
In the Import file box you enter the path to the file from which you will import data as well as which format template you want to use. To start the import click the button Import (Ctrl + R) in the toolbar. All data will be loaded to the list in the Loaded records box. You can manually add and delete rows. To complete the import you must check the box Include for the rows you wish to save and then click Save
. When you save, the included rows will be removed from the list.
Format
You can configure the format of the file in the Format settings box. For the contents of the file you can also determine which separator should be interpreted as column limiter and decimal limiter. Furthermore, you can configure that a certain number of initial rows should be skipped during the import.
If there is a batch number in the import file, the batch number will be created if the part is configured with traceability in the part register and if you use a format template with batch number. The batch number is created in the register (Serial number A serial number is a number that is used for traceability for parts on entity level./Batch
A batch is the set of components/products manufactured at the same time and made from the same original material.). Furthermore, a mapping table will be created between the location and batch number.
The stock transaction generated by the import is stock reported directly (arrival). The import also generates a stock transaction log record but with the transaction type Balance import. The imported balance is always in the part's standard unit.
If there is a FIFO price in the import file, this will be saved to the stock transaction log's Arrival reported price if you use a format template with FIFO price. The price is always entered in the company currency so no conversion will be made from another currency. If there is no FIFO price, the arrival reported price will be the same as the part's standard price. In this case, a warning appears in the FIFO price column in the Loaded records box.
