Serial number/Batch
The Serial number A serial number is a number that is used for traceability for parts on entity level./Batch
A batch is the set of components/products manufactured at the same time and made from the same original material. procedure functions as a hub for the traceability at batch level and at serial number level. The traceability in the system does not require that each batch or serial number are put in a unique location, this can instead be handled using a physical marking of the goods. The information about serial number/batch is saved in a separate register, not on the location.
Traceability Traceability in Monitor ERP is all about being able to trace a specific serial number or a batch in each step it is being processed, as of when a part or a material arrives with you from a supplier. Traceability is also about stating what is withdrawn from and what is added to stock, so it is then possible to trace from customer order, via manufacturing order to purchase order. But it is also about being able to trace the other way around; from purchase order via manufacturing order to customer order. is about being able to trace/follow a serial number or a batch in each step of the processing, starting with the initial arrival from the supplier. Furthermore, you can enter what has been withdrawn from and what is added to stock so it afterwards is possible to trace from customer order, via manufacturing order to purchase order. You can also trace from the other process direction, regardless of which level is concerned. There are rules and requirements regarding the marking and documentation of the processing steps.
In the end, the purpose of traceability is to be able to minimize the number of products that need to be recalled. This is done by creating a secure and detailed traceability running through all levels.

A serial number is a number which is unique for an entity, for example a circuit board. If there, for example, is 10 circuit boards, then all 10 will each have a unique serial number. The traceability keeps the entity unique in the system, even in cases where two suppliers have used the same serial number for different parts. Serial numbers can be used for both purchased and manufactured parts.
The serial number is used to keep track of where and when each product has been delivered. Each delivered product gets a unique serial number using this procedure. The serial number can be used for entities delivered with a designation label, tag or plate where the serial number is showing. In this procedure you can see existing serial numbers, but you can also update existing and delete serial numbers.
You can also create the serial number in connection with when the customer order, the delivery, or the manufacturing order is created.
Under the Manual level list tab you can manually enter the serial numbers and batch numbers of which a serial number consists.

Batch is a number which can be shared by several entities. This number can exist even if it does not contain any entities. For example, if the 10 circuit boards are all manufactured at the same time. Then they will get a batch number which is shared by all 10 entities. The default batch number is the same as the order number for which the arrival to stock has been made. The batch number is created as the order number + the position on the purchase order, and for manufacturing orders the batch number is created using the manufacturing order number instead.
Under the Manual level list tab you can manually enter the serial numbers and batch numbers of which a batch number consists.

Charge is an identity which always comes from the supplier. For example, it can be the supplier's batch number or a casting (ingot) number.
In the Extra fields procedure it is possible to create fields for this register. If such fields already have been created, these will be available under the Extra fields tab.
At the very bottom of the window you can see information about who created and most recently modified the information for the current record and at what time. Using the button you will access a log containing all modifications.
