Move stock balance – Legacy procedure
This procedure has been replaced by a new procedure Move stock balance, and will be taken out of the system during the course of 2022.
Here you can move a part's stock balance between different locations. If you have installed the Warehouse option, you can also move the balance between different warehouses.
You can only move one stock balance at a time from a location. However, you can distribute the balance on several locations when moving the balance.
You can also create new locations when moving the balance. This is made by adding a new row, entering a location name, and entering a balance on that location.
It is also possible to select if the location is a pick location, a pick location for work center or both. You can then enter a reorder point and a suggested refill quantity.
You can also enter a priority for the location.
You can also, if needed, determine that the balance on a location should be excluded (from the net requirement calculation, requirement calculation, and check delivery times). Read more about this in the section Locations in the online help function for the Part register procedure.

- In the box called Part to move, you select for which parts the balance should be moved. You handle one part at a time by marking the row in the box.
- In the box called Location to move from, you select from which location you want to move balance in the From column. You can only move from one location at a time.
- In the called Location to move to, you select to which location the balance should be moved by entering the balance in the Quantity column. You can also add a new location to which you want to move the balance.
- When you save in the procedure, the balance will be moved.

Last arrival date
A warning appears if you want to move a stock balance to a location that has a different Last arrival date. When you save, the date on the location will be set to the date which is latest in time.
That is, the age analysis will remain the same for the balance which has the latest arrival date, but it will stop applying for the balance with the older arrival date.
If a part has traceability on batch level, the stock balance can be moved to a location with the same batch number. If there are no locations with the same batch number, a new location is added with that number. Parts with traceability on serial number level can only be moved to new locations. When you move a potion of a location which has multiple batches/serial number, you must enter which batch/serial number you are moving.
It is possible to move a balance to the same batch (add together). If you want to move the batch to a location where the batch is not already present, you must first create a new location.
For a part for which traceability becomes activated, you must first perform a stock count to be able to move stock balance to the batch. You can stock count the location to 0 and then create a batch on the location and stock count the balance in to that location.
